Home Home?
What is it? It is the word that
strikes melody in the heart. It is
something we associate with mother. It is the place of rest to which the
care-worn soul turns tired steps from the toils and struggles of life.
It is the family fortress that shuts out the world.
It is where the weak and weary spirit finds strength.
It is the one place in this wide world where hearts are sure of each
other. It is the only place where
the commoner can be a king or a queen or a prince or a princess. A
child was asked, “Where is your home?”
The little fellow replied, “Where mother is.”
Ah, this is home! She
has been endowed with special feminine and solicitous traits which nobly qualify
her for the strenuous and honorable task of being a homemaker.
What night-watching! What joy! What helpfulness is seen in the home
mother makes! She forges the ties
of an undying love and welds the bonds of a family trust as she makes them proud
in their poverty, sincere in their simplicity and one in their plurality. This
is home. We call it Home Sweet
Home. There
are three words that sweetly blend, And on
the heart are graven A
precious, soothing balm they lend, They’re
Mother, Home and Heaven
